Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: October 24, 2024 · Last Updated: October 2026 · Version 2.4
Summary of Terms & Key Understandings
- 1.Calculations are Estimates: Values are mathematical approximations for planning. Physical verification on digital scales is required before commercial production.
- 2.You Own 100% of Your IP: You retain complete ownership over any 3D models and files you inspect. We claim zero rights to your CAD designs.
- 3.Commercial Quoting Allowed: You are free to use calculation breakdowns, quote estimates, and pricing formulas for your print business or Etsy store.
- 4.Zero Liability: We provide these free tools without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for wasted materials, failed prints, or machine wear.
01.Agreement to Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and 3DPrintingCostCalc.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”), governing your access to and use of our website, calculation utilities, guides, and related tools (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing, browsing, or using any part of the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, you are prohibited from using the Service and must immediately discontinue access.
02.Description of the Service & Free Model
3DPrintingCostCalc.com provides independent, browser-based computational utilities for the additive manufacturing community. These include filament weight converters, electricity cost amortizations, 3D printer total cost of ownership (TCO) estimators, spool tare weight databases, multicolor AMS waste estimators, and SLA/resin volume calculations.
The Service is offered completely free of charge on an “AS-IS” and “AS-AVAILABLE” basis. We reserve the right to modify, enhance, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time without notice or liability.
03.Engineering Calculations & Mathematical Estimation Disclaimer
Important Engineering & Operational Notice:
Additive manufacturing processes depend on complex, non-linear physical variables that cannot be predicted with mathematical perfection outside calibrated laboratory conditions.
You acknowledge that all calculation results, cost breakdowns, weight estimations, print duration forecasts, and electricity rates generated by 3DPrintingCostCalc.com are theoretical mathematical estimates and planning benchmarks only. Real-world 3D printing results vary significantly due to factors including:
- Polymer Density & Batch Variances: Raw filament and resin densities vary by manufacturer and color pigments (±3% to ±5%). Hygroscopic moisture absorption also alters physical filament mass.
- Filament Diameter Tolerances: Standard 1.75mm spools fluctuate between 1.72mm and 1.78mm (±0.03mm), changing extruded volume per linear meter.
- Slicer Algorithms & Acceleration Curves: Actual print times are governed by physical stepper motor kinematics, acceleration, jerk, resonance compensation (input shaping), wipe towers, and nozzle purge volumes.
- Thermal & Power Factors: Ambient chamber temperatures, draft conditions, heated bed thermal loss, and regional electricity tariffs fluctuate continuously.
Mandatory User Verification: You are solely responsible for conducting physical test prints, weighing spools and finished prints on calibrated digital scales, verifying toolpath slices in your machine slicer, and confirming economic viability before entering into commercial quoting, Etsy order fulfillment, or mass manufacturing runs.
04.No Professional, Engineering, or Financial Advice
The information and calculation formulas made available through the Service do not constitute formal engineering certification, structural safety testing, fire/electrical hazard compliance, or certified financial, accounting, or tax advice. You should consult qualified engineering professionals and certified financial advisors for mission-critical structural components or formal enterprise business planning.
05.Intellectual Property & Ownership
Your Intellectual Property (100% User Owned): You retain full and exclusive ownership, copyright, patent, and trade secret rights over all 3D files (including STL, 3MF, G-code, and OBJ formats) evaluated using our web utilities. Because our calculations occur entirely inside your browser memory without server uploads, we never see, store, reproduce, or claim any license to your proprietary designs.
Our Intellectual Property: All website source code, algorithms, user interface layouts, stylesheets, typography, brand trademarks, logos, visual graphics, and compilation copyrights are the exclusive intellectual property of 3DPrintingCostCalc.com and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property treaties.
06.Permitted Commercial Quoting & Business Usage
We actively encourage small businesses, Etsy makers, and commercial print farms to use our calculation outputs. You are granted a free, non-exclusive license to:
- Calculate part costs and retail pricing for commercial quotation to clients.
- Export and print cost summaries, quote breakdowns, and material estimates for accounting and customer invoicing.
- Use our machine profile database and material guides to optimize internal manufacturing operations.
07.Prohibited User Conduct
When using 3DPrintingCostCalc.com, you agree not to:
- Engage in automated scraping, data harvesting, or denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks designed to impair service availability for other makers.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit our hosting and edge infrastructure.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or infringement of third-party intellectual property rights.
- Mirror or frame the website in a misleading manner without prior written consent.
08.Third-Party Hardware & Trademark Disclaimers
All references to 3D printer hardware brands (including but not limited to Bambu Lab, Prusa Research, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic, Voron Design, Ultimaker, Formlabs), slicers (such as OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura), and filament manufacturers are used strictly for nominative identification, educational reference, and hardware compatibility.

09.Disclaimer of Warranties (“AS-IS”)
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CALCULATIONS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF DEFECTS.
10.Limitation of Liability

THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, NOZZLE CLOGS, THERMAL DAMAGE, WASTED FILAMENT OR RESIN, PRODUCTION DELAYS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS REPUTATION ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE UPON OUR CALCULATIONS.
11.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 3DPrintingCostCalc.com, its operators, contributors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your use of or reliance upon the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) any dispute between you and your customers concerning commercial quotes generated using the Service.
12.Severability & Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and 3DPrintingCostCalc.com regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
